The Ridge 

 

The Ridge, also known as The Ridge Community or simply The Ridge, is an unincorporated community in Hill County, Texas, United States. It has a population of 431 as of the 2010 census. The first European settlers arrived in the area in 1877 and formed several small settlements over the next decade. At that time the community was known as Richland and was located on Richland Creek with Richland being its post office name from 1886 to 1936. Following World War II, development in the area began to increase rapidly due to its proximity to Austin and Dallas. Today it is one of the fastest-growing communities in Hill County with a population that is expected to more than double by 2020.
